Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thursday: Psalms 56, 57; John 18.1-11 Questions on John:
• Almost after the intense spiritual experience and words of Chapter 17, Chapter 18 snaps us back to the hard reality now facing Jesus. Betrayal, violence. The “world” comes flooding in. Do you ever feel like this? The shocking juxtaposition of our spiritual life in Christ and the harsh physical world? How do you deal with this?
• Jesus has already promise, “Fear not, for I have overcome the world”. Take that promise to heart today if you find yourself being drawn away from your life in Christ.
• What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
