Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Friday: Psalms 51, 54; John 18.12-27 Questions for reflection on John:
• Peter’s denial, witnessed by John. Take a moment to reflect on Peter’s feelings and thoughts at this time… so soon after he attempted to defend Jesus with a sword. What makes him deny Jesus?
• Do you recognise any of Peter’s thoughts and motives in your own Christian walk? Remember, Jesus prayed for Peter that he would not fall away but find the strength and courage to follow his calling. Pray for the same for yourself (or another) today.
• What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
