Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Saturday: Psalms41, 42, 43; Philemon Questions on Philemon:
·       Do you ever find yourself acting against someone else because it is “your right” to do so – justified by social convention?  Paul appeals Philemon to have different motives. What are they?
·       Although Paul never speaks out against slavery as such, he speaks to transform attitudes within the accepted social structure. Is this a good strategy? If so, why? If not, why not?
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it slowly and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
