Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Friday: St. Simon and St. Jude; Psalms 116, 117; John 15.17-27.  Questions for reflection on John:
·       Simon as known as the “zealot” – someone who longed to stand up to the oppression of his people. A coincidence that Ochi Day falls on the same day? Pray today for all those who stand up against powerful dictators or against dangerous ideologies that oppress people.
·       The reading from John teaches of the greatest and truest power in the world – love. Pray today for the leaders of the world – that they would be led by the Advocate to make decisions rooted in love.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
