Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Monday, 17/10; Psalms1, 2, 3; 1 Timothy 6.1-10 Questions for reflection on 1 Timothy:
·       What is Paul’s response to the relationship between slaves and their masters (both of course within the Christianity community that Timothy serves)?
·       Paul sees the transformation of their relationship (and therefore slavery itself) being changed by the work of the Holy Spirit within. Today there are an estimated 46 million slaves in the world today. Pray that the power of the Gospel may transform that which the law has been unable to reach.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
