Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wednesday; Psalm 89.1-37; John 2.1-12 Questions on John:
·       Another curious dialogue! How do you explain this disconnected conversation between Jesus and Mary?
·       Jesus uses the incident of a shortage to point to the Kingdom that is breaking through; scarcity become abundance; poor wine becomes vintage; the slaves see it but the master doesn’t(!); all set in the context of a wedding feast – a symbol of heaven. Keep your eyes open for signs of the Kingdom in the most unusual places today. Share what you find.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
