Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Monday, 16/1; Psalms145, 146; 1 Corinthians 6.1-11 Questions for reflection on Corinthians:
·       Why is Paul so upset that the Corinthian church resorts to external legal authorities to resolve disputes between its members? Do you agree with Paul that it is better to lose than have the argument between Christians in public?
·       Verse 10 is a key verse in the debate about gay marriage. Pray today for the Anglican Communion in the ongoing public debate and tension around this issue. What will you pray for?
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
