Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thursday: Psalms 143, 146; Luke 21.29-end; Questions for reflection on Luke:
·       Jesus sees the devastation that humans cause each other as signs of the times – a lead in to an inevitable end. How should we respond to such circumstances?
·       It is often said that countries get the governments they deserve. Do you agree with this? Pray today for God’s mercy and strength for those who live with costs of human evil – those, to quote Desmond Tuto, who get trampled while the elephants fight.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
