A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Tuesday, 5/1; Psalms 8, 48; Colossians 4.2-end; Questions for reflection on Colossians:
  • What does Paul mean when he advises the Colossian church to "devote themselves to prayer"? What do you think this looks like? What gets in the way? If there are any ideas that speak to our church, please share them.
  • Is there a particular phrase or verse that speaks to you today? Repeat it slowly to yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you through it.

  1. "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt". What is the 'salt' referring to? Salt is used to bring out the flavour.

  2. Devote to prayer ...be consistent and persistant.pray for protection and removal of obstacles.
