Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thursday: Psalms 47, 48; 1 Corinthians 11.2-16 Questions on Corinthians:
·       A difficult passage for many in the church today. Paul tells the church to hold to it’s traditions. Today, many say we must lay those traditions aside in the light of our understanding of grace and equality. Which motive do you feel is the most ’godly’?
·       V13, tells us to judge for ourselves. In what ways are we able to do this and why should such a directive make us nervous?
·       Pray today for the church denominations across the world with their varying practices but one baptism, one Lord, one faith. Pray for our unity in diversity.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
