Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wednesday, Holy Innocents; Psalms 36, 146; Matthew 2.13-18 Questions on Matthew:
·       Again, we have contrast in the events around the Nativity. The foolishness and wickedness of an earthly king in contrast to the gentleness and humility of the true king, fleeing in exile. And the consequences.
·       A reading like today reminds us that we are engaged in a battle and the evil has the most hideous of weapons. But the light shines in the darkness. Pray today for the Holy Innocents in our world today and for those who threaten them harm
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
