Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Monday, St. Stephen’s Day; Psalms 13, 31.1-8, 150; Acts 7.51-60 Questions for reflection on Acts:
·       The amazing story of the first Christian martyr. It is a story of incredible contrasts - the peace and integrity of Stephen with hatred and anger of his accusers; the horrible violence of the world and the vision of truth that Stephen has. This is the power of the Spirit transforming darkness in to light. Ironic that the religious men could not see it!
·       Pray today for any you know who desperately need to look at their situation in a new way.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
