Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wednesday, St. Andrew’s Day: Psalms 47, 147.1-12; John 12.20-32; Questions on Revelation:
·       Andrew is shown in the reading as one who is not afraid to ask Jesus when he is uncertain of something. A sign of humility. If you could ask Jesus to clarify one thing for you, what would it be? What are you waiting for!?
·       Jesus response to their question (v23) shows that he interpreted the question of the gentiles as the beginning of the fulfilment of prophecy that the nations (the gentiles) would come to know God. Andrew gave his life for this – an inspiration for our commitment. Pray again today for wisdom and insight as to how our church can introduce those who don’t yet know Jesus to Him.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
