Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Monday,12/9; Psalm 44; Acts 19.8-20; Questions for reflection on Acts:
·       Our reading today gives insight into the spiritual battles that Paul engaged with. But Paul (and Luke never confuse the real source of power – v11). Apart from the obvious (v16!), why is superstition and the occult so dangerous?
·       Are there any remnants of superstition in your outlook on the world? Let them go!
·       Pray today for those who are trapped by such things – who are placing their faith in something other than the One True God.
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
