Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Friday: Psalm31; Acts 18.1-21 Questions for reflection on Acts:
·       This reading is one of the first “interactions” between the “state” and the “church”. How do you think it turned out? Take a moment to pray for the relationship between the church and the state in Greece and the UK. How and what are you guided to pray?
·       Paul’s vow is unclear but a supposition is that it completed a Jewish vow he had made earlier (possibly not to cut his hair while was part of a religious group and to cut it when he left). If this were true he would be doing it so as to be right in front of Jews. Why would this be important to Paul, despite so many arguments that lived under Grace?
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
