Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Monday, 6/7; Psalm 44; Luke 13.1-9: Questions on Luke:
·       Do you find the first 5 verses shocking? Why?
·       Jesus is saying firstly that suffering is not necessarily a judgment – but he is also encouraging us to make sure that we are never complacent in our willingness to change and grow with Him. What do you need to change today? Pray for His strength in this.
·       In the parable of the fig tree, how are mercy and judgment “mingled together”?
·       If the fig tree (like the vine) are symbols of “Israel” and the church – how should we respond?
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
