Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wednesday, 18/5: Psalm 119.153-end; Luke 9.37-50 Questions for reflection on Luke:
·       What do you think is behind Jesus’s sudden frustration, “how long am I… to bear with you”? He later says, “Let these words sink into your ears…”. Why is it so imperative that those who followed him remembered these things?
·       Jesus is looking forward to the time when the ministry of the Kingdom will be in the hands of those to follow who will need to have faith and work with and through the Holy Spirit. This is now us. What stops us sharing his sense of urgency?
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
