Daily Prayers and Readings from Holy Trinity, Corfu.

Please include in your prayers:
- the economic situation in Greece
- the crisis in Syria - for wisdom and compassion.
- the millions of displaced people in the Ukraine.
- the refugees and the European response to their needs
A special prayer for the UK at this time

Eternal God, Light of the nations,
in Christ you make all things new:
guide our nation in the coming days through the inspiration of your Spirit,
that understanding may put an end to discord and all bitterness.
Give us grace to rebuild bonds of trust
that together we may work for the dignity and flourishing of all;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Tuesday, 15/1: Psalms 35, 123; Hebrews 11.32-12.2 Questions for reflection based on Hebrews:
·       Why is it that faith in God’s goodness and blessing so often leads to frustration or even suffering? Pray today for those Christians for whom this is their reality.
·       The writer encourages us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, who saw beyond the suffering to the joy that was to come. Is there a situation you are faced with today where you need to take this perspective?
What verse speaks to you today? Repeat it and allow the Holy Spirit to speak through it.
